About KIT

KIT College, the first self financed engineering college in Maharashtra. Started in 1983 with the strong backing of leading industrialists, professionals, and leading educationists in Kolhapur. It is affiliated to Shivaji University, Kolhapur and approved by the All India Council for Technical Education, New Delhi. The vast exposure and experience of many eminent members of the college has helped KIT establish its identity as an institute of repute and the institute has been molding excellent professionals since 1987.

Motivated to contribute to the industrial growth of this region the institute has always focused on imparting quality technical education, which is also socially relevant. The KIT management is committed to establish this institute as a center of advanced technology and research. Collaborations with leading industries and premier institutions are on the anvil for advanced training of the faculty and executive exchange program. 'A' Grade has been awarded by Department of Technical Education, Govt. Of Maharashtra, Mumbai & recognized as lead college by Shivaji University.

The entire faculty has adequate teaching and professional experience. Almost all have completed their post graduation. Average teaching and professional experience of the faculty is about 11 years. The college has a well-established industry institute interaction with local industries and total 50 MOU’s have been signed with various industries. A separate advisory board is also formed consisting of renowned Industrialists and Academicians for smooth functioning of the department and to cater the needs of the future
